Maxime Bernier - Party Leader

Maxime Bernier is known as a dependable politician who speaks his mind.  He was elected Member of Parliament for Beauce on January 23, 2006, with the largest majority outside Alberta. 


He was appointed to Cabinet on February 6, 2006, as Minister of 

Industry.  Mr. Bernier also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from August 14, 2007 to May 26, 2008.


He was re-elected to represent Beauce on October 14, 2008, again receiving the largest majority of all MPs in Quebec.  Re-elected on May 2, 2011, he was appointed Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism.


Maxime Bernier was re-elected a fourth time in November, 2015, receiving more than 59% of the vote. 


On August 23, 2018, he left the Conservative Party of Canada to sit as an independent MP and announced the launch of the People’s Party of Canada. 


Bill Townsend - Candidate BGOS

Bill Townsend is the People’s Party of Canada candidate for Bruce Grey Owen Sound.  


Bill has over twenty years’ experience as a broadcaster on numerous radio stations.  He was on the air at CKNX FM and AM from 1994 to 2012.  He has a comprehensive understanding of the riding of Bruce Grey Owen Sound.


Since 2012, he has pursued broadcast technology and is currently supporting the Radio Broadcasting program and the Faculty of Media and Creative Arts at Humber College as well as supporting 88.7 The River in Mount Forest.


He and his wife reside in Durham with their four children.  Bill joined the People’s Party of Canada to help restore principles to Ottawa.  


He looks forward to representing the riding and believes that residents want a government based on Freedom, Responsibility, Fairness and Respect.
